Career License and Terms

This page explains the Career license and terms, including the one-user limit, ownership of your career information, local use from your own computer, refund terms, important software limits, and when expanded licensing is required.

One Career folder for one user.

The Career instructions, rule files, reusable record and document templates, local website structure, site design, page layouts, navigation patterns, and reusable system framework are Copyright (c) 2026 8bit Company LLC. All rights reserved.

Subject to the license purchased or otherwise granted by 8bit Company LLC, these Career materials may be used to create and maintain one Career folder for one individual user.

"One user" means the individual whose career history, evidence, opportunities, and application materials are kept in that licensed Career folder.

This license does not grant the right to copy the Career materials for distribution, resale, publication, sublicensing, additional users, clients, candidates, employees, students, or organizations.

Your Career Information

All resumes, role details, project notes, accomplishments, dates, skills, job descriptions, application records, interview notes, generated drafts, and other user-specific content added to the Career folder belong to the user or the person who provided them.

The Career folder is intended for local use. 8bit Company LLC does not receive files from that folder through the product itself unless the user chooses to send files, text, screenshots, or other materials to 8bit Company LLC for support or services.

8bit Company LLC does not claim ownership of the user's career information or user-provided materials. The license applies to the Career framework, instructions, rules, templates, local site structure, and design—not to the user's own career data or the documents created from it.

Use From Your Computer

Career is intended to run from a folder on the user's computer. Its local viewer and source files are designed to function without 8bit-hosted software, tracking, analytics, or ongoing network access.

If you choose to use Career with a hosted AI chat tool, that tool may require internet access and may process the information you share with it.

Any use of hosted AI tools is subject to the terms, privacy policies, account settings, and data practices of those third-party tools.

No Transfer of Rights

Nothing on this page transfers ownership of 8bit Company LLC intellectual property, trademarks, copyrights, prompt architecture, reusable instructions, rules, templates, local website structure, page layouts, navigation patterns, or system design to the user, except for the limited right to use the licensed Career materials as described here.

Nothing on this page transfers ownership of the user's career information or user-created application materials to 8bit Company LLC.

Expanded Licensing

Additional licensing is required to provide copies to additional users or to use Career as part of a service for clients, candidates, employees, students, or members of an organization.

Email info@8bitcompany.com for expanded licensing for teams, coaches, schools, workforce programs, or other organizations.

Terms and guarantees

Important limits and customer responsibilities.

These terms are part of the Career license. They explain the limited refund guarantee, the limits of the software, and the user responsibilities that apply when using Career.

30-Day Refund Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with 8bit Career, you may request a refund within 30 days of purchase by emailing 8bit Company LLC with your purchase email and order details.

The refund guarantee applies to the amount paid to 8bit Company LLC for the Career product. It does not cover third-party AI subscriptions, payment-provider fees that are not returned to 8bit Company LLC, consulting work, custom services, or other separate purchases unless those items are expressly included in writing.

After a refund is issued, the license to use the Career materials ends. The customer must delete downloaded copies and stop using the materials.

No Job, Interview, or Outcome Guarantee

Career is a tool for organizing information, reviewing opportunities, and drafting career materials. It does not guarantee interviews, job offers, recruiter responses, salary increases, promotions, admissions, hiring decisions, or any other career result.

The user is responsible for reviewing all resumes, cover letters, applications, interview notes, job research, and other outputs before relying on them or sharing them.

Third-Party AI Tools

Career is designed to be used with AI tools chosen by the user. 8bit Company LLC does not control third-party AI providers, model behavior, availability, account settings, privacy practices, data handling, pricing, or output quality.

The user is responsible for deciding what information to share with any third-party AI provider and for following that provider's terms and policies.

Software Provided As Is

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Career is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind except for the limited refund guarantee stated on this page.

8bit Company LLC does not promise that Career will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device, compatible with every AI tool, or suitable for every user's situation.

User Responsibility and Data

The user is responsible for keeping their own copies, backups, passwords, devices, AI accounts, and source materials.

Career is not a backup service, storage service, security service, legal service, employment agency, recruiter, or professional certification service.

Limits on Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 8bit Company LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, business interruption, employment decisions, or third-party service issues.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, any total liability arising from Career is limited to the amount the customer paid to 8bit Company LLC for the Career product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some limits may not apply.
