8bit Desktop Workspace Product License

This 8bit Desktop Workspace Product License (the Product License) is a binding agreement between the customer and 8bit Company LLC. It governs separately purchased downloadable desktop workspace products identified in a schedule below, currently 8bit Groundwork and 8bit Career.

The 8bit Terms of Service govern My 8bit accounts, checkout, payment processing, online access, support features, and other online services. This Product License governs the downloaded product materials. If the two conflict specifically about permitted use of downloaded Groundwork or Career materials, this Product License controls. The applicable product schedule controls if it conflicts with the shared provisions of this Product License. A signed written agreement controls only for its stated subject matter.

Each purchase grants one limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to one named individual. If a business or other organization pays, it must assign the license to one individual user.

The named user may install and use the licensed product on devices they personally control and may make reasonable backup or archival copies for that same user's continued use. A purchase is not a team, site, concurrent-user, household, client, or organization-wide license.

The named user may use the product for its intended purpose, add their own information, maintain their own working folder, and share user-created or exported outputs only as permitted by the applicable product schedule.

Permission to share an exported document, report, resume, cover letter, or other user-created output does not grant permission to share the complete workspace, local website, reusable framework, source structure, instructions, rules, skills, workflows, templates, or other 8bit materials used to create it.

The customer and named user may not copy, distribute, sell, resell, sublicense, publish, mirror, rent, transfer, or provide the complete product download, workspace folder, local website, or 8bit materials to another person except for the named user's permitted device and backup copies.

No owner, employee, contractor, client, candidate, student, family member, representative, or other person may access, operate, edit, copy, or contribute to the licensed workspace through an AI Agent or otherwise unless separately licensed.

The licensed materials may not be used to create a competing product or service, stripped for reusable components, placed on a shared drive or network for multi-user access, or used to provide copies or workspace access as part of consulting, coaching, recruiting, education, workforce, membership, or client services without separate written licensing.

The user or organization that supplied information retains ownership of its business information, career information, notes, records, documents, images, and other user-provided materials. 8bit Company LLC does not claim ownership of that information.

User information and user-created outputs do not include the 8bit framework, prompt architecture, instructions, rules, skills, workflows, reusable templates, local website structure, designs, page layouts, navigation patterns, or other 8bit materials, even when those materials are incorporated into or used to create an output.

The working product folder is intended for local use. 8bit Company LLC does not receive files from that folder through the product itself unless the user chooses to send files, text, screenshots, or other materials to 8bit for support or services.

An AI tool chosen by the user may require internet access and may process information the user shares with it. Third-party AI providers are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, account settings, availability, pricing, and data practices. The user is responsible for deciding what to share and reviewing all AI-assisted work.

The licensed product materials are Copyright © 2026 8bit Company LLC. All rights reserved. Nothing transfers ownership of 8bit intellectual property, trademarks, copyrights, framework materials, source structure, instructions, rules, skills, templates, designs, or system architecture to the customer or user.

The licensee may not knowingly remove, obscure, falsify, or alter copyright, license, purchaser-identification, or proprietary notices for the purpose of redistributing, sublicensing, reselling, or concealing unauthorized use.

Unless an order form or applicable schedule states otherwise, the customer may request a refund within 30 days of purchase by emailing 8bit Company LLC with the purchase email and order details.

The guarantee applies only to the amount paid to 8bit for the licensed product. It does not cover third-party AI subscriptions, payment-provider fees not returned to 8bit, consulting, custom services, or separate purchases unless expressly included in writing.

After a refund is issued, the license ends. The customer and user must delete downloaded and backup copies of the licensed materials and stop using them. User-created information and exported outputs remain the user's, but they may not retain or continue using 8bit materials after the license ends.

The user is responsible for reviewing product content, AI outputs, generated files, recommendations, application materials, and decisions before relying on or sharing them. The user is also responsible for devices, accounts, passwords, source materials, current backups, and lawful use of all information.

The products are not backup, storage, security, legal, tax, accounting, financial, employment, recruiting, compliance, certification, insurance, or other licensed professional services. Product-specific limitations appear in the applicable schedule.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, each product is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind except for the limited refund guarantee expressly stated in this Product License.

8bit does not promise that a product will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device or AI tool, secure against every threat, or suitable for every situation. The product-specific schedule identifies additional outcomes that are not guaranteed.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 8bit Company LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, opportunities, data, business interruption, employment consequences, decisions, or third-party service issues.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability arising from a licensed product is limited to the amount the customer paid 8bit for that product. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some provisions may not apply.

Team, agency, consulting, coaching, client-handoff, school, workforce-program, organization, and other multi-user or service-provider uses require separate written licensing. Contact info@8bitcompany.com before giving product materials or workspace access to another person.

The governing-law, dispute, severability, waiver, assignment, force-majeure, and other general provisions in the 8bit Terms of Service are incorporated into this Product License. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
