Groundwork setup help
Add your Groundwork folder.
Pick the desktop app you are using, then follow the matching steps. The goal is simple: open the unzipped Groundwork folder so the AI can read the setup instructions and work with the files on your computer.
The AI only gets access to the Groundwork folder you choose, so keep the project focused on those files.
Add the folder in ChatGPT Desktop
- 1Open the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in.
- 2Add or open your unzipped Groundwork folder as the project or workspace.
- 3Open the new Groundwork project.
- 4Choose the best model you have access to.
- 5Chat inside that project and send "Build Groundwork" to begin setup.
Before you start
- Use the strongest model you have access to.
- Use the highest thinking mode available for setup.
- Allow your AI desktop app to read and edit files inside the Groundwork folder when it asks for permission.
- Advanced users can also use Claude Code, or switch between Claude Projects and Claude Code if that fits their workflow.
- Groundwork can use a lot of tokens while reading files and building context. Choose the model and thinking mode that fit your plan and budget.
