Groundwork License

This page explains the Groundwork license terms, including the one-business and one-user use limit, user-data ownership, local-use rules, and how to request discounted licensing for multiple employees or additional businesses.

Subject to the license purchased or otherwise granted by 8bit Company LLC, these Groundwork materials may be used to create and maintain one local Groundwork workspace for one business and one user.

"One user" means one individual person, whether an owner, employee, contractor, or other representative of the licensed business.

This license does not grant the right to copy the Groundwork materials for distribution, resale, publication, sublicensing, additional users, clients, companies, or business entities.

User Information and Business Data

All business information, source materials, onboarding answers, notes, documents, records, logs, advisor outputs, and other user-specific content added to this local system belong to the user or the business that provided them.

8bit Company LLC does not have access to any user files, business information, source materials, or other user-provided content stored in a local Groundwork system.

8bit Company LLC does not claim ownership of the user's business information or user-provided materials. The license applies to the Groundwork materials listed above, including the reusable framework, boilerplate rules, templates, site structure, and site design, not to the user's own business data.

Local Use

This system is intended to run locally in the user's own workspace. The generated website and source files are designed to function without external services, hosted software, tracking, analytics, or network access.

However, if you choose to use Groundwork with a hosted AI chat tool, that hosted AI chat tool may require internet access to send and receive messages.

Any use of hosted AI tools is subject to the terms, privacy policies, and data practices of those third-party tools.

No Transfer of Rights

Nothing in this page transfers ownership of 8bit Company LLC intellectual property, trademarks, copyrights, prompt architecture, boilerplate rules, thinking files, reusable templates, website structure, site design, page layouts, navigation patterns, or system design to the user, except for the limited right to use the licensed Groundwork materials as described here.

Nothing in this page transfers ownership of the user's business information to 8bit Company LLC.

Expanded Licensing

Additional licensing is required for multiple employees, additional users, additional businesses, clients, companies, or deployments.
